Bowling.
There was-a large attendance at the Bowling Green on Thursday afternoon, and fair progress was made with some of the tournament matches.
Handicap singles.—J. T. Witty beat W. Pettie, Ponsford beat Ambridge, F. Pettio beat Wallace, J. T. Witty beat Johnston, Cox boat O’Meara. In the latter game Cox won by 2 points. On the twenty-first head the game .was level, the extra head being won by the limit man.
Several other games were played, among which wo noticed one, Willock, Lewis, Humphreys and Hennessy ' (skip), who scored 20 against 24 by Nasmith, Johnston, Ambridge, ‘and Matthewson (skip); also Pettie, Massey, - Ponsford, and Coleman (skip), who scored 11 against 25 byMcGowan, Nicholas, Dixon, and Batham (skip). . ■ .. .. .
