At tho Police Court to-day, Samuel Flaherty, charged with a criminal offenco on a young child at St. Clair, was committed for trial. Ho asked for bail, and tho Magistrate said ho would make it nearly prohibitive, fixing it at 411000, with two sureties of .£SOO each.
