THE TAKAPUNA MEETING.

The date of holding the Takapuna meeting has not vet been decided. Bluejacket is "now favorite for the Takapuna Cup. Heavy rains have interfered with training operations. Formula and Dayntred have been well supported for the Cup, and with Bluejacket it is expected that the trio will furnish the winner. Nor’-wost holds his place firmlv as favorite for the Steeplechase, and of the others Bingo and Stray bird arc the pair considered most dangerous. TARANAKI -JOCKEY CLUB. The Canterbury Times remarks: —“The Takapuna Jockey Club in postponing its summer meeting on account of the death of Her Majesty, displayed taste which might well have been copied by other clubs.”
.Record Reign is being ridden round the roads about Ellerslic, and should nothing unforeseen occur, he will probably be again in full training work during the coming month. It is rumored that one of the Auckland ring will bo a loser of the best part of a thousand over a long list of forged bills which came to light during the prosent week.
