At the Eahiatua races yesterday Gipsy Queen won the Racing Giub Handicap ; div., j£6 18s. The Stewards’ Welter was won by Forest Oak; dividend, «£4 4s. Passion Fruit won the Grandstand Handicap, paying £7, and Woe Guard \yqn the Scurry, paying 43 10s. At the Magistrate’s Court yesterday judgment was given by default in the cases—T. Steele (Mr Nolan) v. H. Humphrey, £4 9s, costs £2 2s 6d ; E. Adams (Mr Jones) v. G. H, Neagle, .£6 4s 6d, costs 25s 6d; Angus and A. Adams (Mr Jones) v. Alexander Williams, £6, costs £2 6s 6d; C. Neenan (Mr Jones) v. Thos. Cahill, £8 14s, costs 29s 6d. In the case Moore v. Ovenden judgment was given for plaintiff for £3 4a 3d, with costs 335.
