LOYAL GISBORNE .LODGE
At the fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Gisborne Lodge No. 6057, 1.0.0. F. M.U. Bro. G. Goldsmith. G.M., presiding: A large amount of correspondence and routine business was dealt with. Reference was made during the evening to a late member of Loyal Good Intent Lodge, Auckland, a communication being received from the Secretary of that Lodge thanking the local Lodge for their kindness to the late Brother. We are informed that the deceased member had been on the sick funds of his Lodge for a period of between 15 and 20 years, so that the joining of the Oddfellows Lodge by the member had been a wise step for him. The Secretary reported that the balance-sheet, which would shortly be laid before the Lodge was a very satisfactory one, as it would show that the 116 members of the Lodge possessed almost £3OOO, and had succeeded in making a profit for the year of between and £3OO. This, he considered, would prove the Lodge to be one of the strongest financial institutions in Gisborne, and be able to guarantee the fulfilment of all its promises.
