THE ANNIVERSARY REGATTA. YACHT RAINBOW BEATS WAITANGI. [By Telegraph—Press Association.] Wellington, last night. The anniversary regatta of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club was held to-day in favorable weather. There was a north-west wind which varied slightly in power, but was never more than moderately strong. Much interest was taken in the meeting of the Auckland yacht Rainbow and the Wellington yacht Waitangi. They were the only two that competed in the race for first-class yachts. The Rainbow sailed the course of 27 knots in ICmin 21secs les3 time than the Waitangi. Including her time allowance of 9min 50sec the Rainbow won by Sfinffn llsec. ' The first race for second-class yachts was won by Atlanta, and the second race by Matiin.
