Accommodation House at Waikaremoana.

When tenders were calledilast year for the erection of an accommodation house at Waikaremoana the opinion was freely expressed that the proposed structure was far in excess of the requirements of the place. The Department found that the lowest tender was considerably over their estimate, and no tender was accepted. Amended plans have been drawn up. and the number of rooms reduced from twenty to fifteen. The size of the rooms have also been reduced, and a great deal .of the ornamentation has been left out, which should reduce the cost to a large extent. The amended plans are now on view at the local survey office.
