A BIG ORDER TO ADVISE THE IMPERIAL GOVERNMENT. ' By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Melbourne, Jan. 20. Mr Seddon has’ received a letter from the Premier of Victoria, enclosing a suggestion from the Trades Hall that the Imperial Government should be requested to take steps to legislate in the Orange and Transvaal colonies, regulating labor, and that Natal and the Cape have legislation on the lines of New Zealand. Mr Seddon intends to consult his colleagues, with the view of giving effect to the request. The Trades Hall desires the prohibiting of forced labor among the natives, the prohibition of the importation of Asiatics and contract labor from abroad, and the prohibition of intoxicants amongst natives.
