The Masterton Agricultural and Pastoral Association intends to offer £7OO as prize money at its forthcoming autumn show. This is a larger amount than has previously been given by the Association. Mr Horrobin, Mangamaire, is the winner of the extra Jd per lb given by Messrs W. Dimock and Go., Wellington, for the finest muality pigs delivered at their factory for the ■week ending 10th of January, having secured 34 points. The Wanganui Herald states:—Mr John Dnnoan has just finished shearing at his Otairi station, where 13 of the Wolseley machines are at work, and the thirteen shearers in one day of nine hours put through 2500 sheep, and one of the men—W. Keenan —relieved 254 sheep of their fleeces. This, we think, constitutes a record for the colony. The milk suppliers of the Wellington and Hutt district have decided to form a union, during their discussion it was suggested that if any member of the union is summonod for breach of the regulations a committee appointed by the union shall inspect the premises and, if satisfied that no breach has been iDmmitted, a levy shall be made to pro vi»e a jiud tot delence. y
