ROWING.

Tiie second round of the double-scull events of the Poverty Bay Bowing Club took place last evening. The first race was—West and Newton, 6 seos, v. Arch. Kirk and J. Muir, 8 secs. West got even with the leader at the jetty, and then won by a length after a*good hard race. _.

The next race was —Pritchard and Kees Jones, scratch, v. J. Pool and H. Taylor, 2 secs. This was an exciting race, the crews being level nearly all the way, and the last stroke being the deciding one, Pritchard won by about three feet. The third race was—J. Webb and J. Parker, scratch, v. Bussell and B. Kellett, 8 secs. Bussell’s crew was never caught, and won by a length and a half. The drawing for the next round resulted in West, 6 secs, meeting Kussell, 8 secs; Pritchard drew the bye. The race will take place this evening and the final to-morrow.
