Wolseley Shearing Machines.
The representative of the A\ r olseley shearing machine, Mr Goldie, was in town last night, and a Times representative obtained from him some information as to the working of the machines on AVaipawa station. The following are tallies for five days
'Half-day’s work. The respective individual tallies showed up well, the “ringer" of the shed having the following numbers to his credit: —
As in the previous ease the work on the Bth > was for half a day only. Mr Goldie states that it should be explained that of the nineteen men engaged only three could be classed as experts, the other sixteen bein" learners. The name of the “ringer" of the shed is Raihana, who hails from Napier, having previously worked the machines on Mr McLean’s station, Hawke’s Bay. Mr Goldie expects that the next district in which he will be fitting up the machines will jpe Walioft.
