A consignment of bullets- and dynamite from Capetown, packed in condensed milk tins, has been seized at Fraserburg. Lord Methuen is pursuing tho Boer convoys past Vyyburg.' _ „ , Private Morgan, ,of the New South Wales Bushmen, died of wounds. Martial law has been proclaimed in Fraserburg, Prince Albert, Worcester, Ceres, and Sutherland districts in Cape Colony. The horses of the Boer raiders in Cape Colony are footsore, and lack fodder. The country in the direction of Fraserburg is barren. The military authorities, are collecting all the remounts and grain. The Boers captured and destroyed the mails due. at Carnarvon on the 30th December. The Boers from the eastward have reached Maraisburg. Small parties in Griqualand West are working towards Prieska. A Commonwealth Banquet was held at Mafeking amongst tho Australians belonging to Earl Erroll’s Bzigade. Colonel Kelly presided. One of the Tasmanian officers gave the toast of the evening. There is a feeling in Capetown that strong reinforcements are imperative. The-absence of actual rising in Cape Colony is ascribed .to lack of arms. The invaders are everywhere assisted, with information, and horses in many places are freely offered.
