Horses will be purchased by Agricultural Department, but if offered by applicants will be accepted at valuation if passed by Government Veterinary Surgeons. Standard not to exceed 16 hands. 4. Conditions of Service—During the currency of the War, or not more than one year. 5. Rate of Pay—ss per diem for Privates, corresponding for other ranks. 6. Applications from Officers not required, as only one will go to hand draft over to Officer Commanding in South Africa. 7. The number of applications need not be limited, as a second draft may be required to follow the first. 8. Returned Troopers wishing to rejoin are privileged to state in their applications in which Contingent now serving in South Africa they wish to enrol, or whether to go as members of Sixth Contingent.
