CHRISTCHURCH, Last sight. The Uyttelton regatta was a great success. On the first day the water’was too rough for the outrigger events, but there was a grand sailing breeze. The stumped outrigged races were rowed inside the moles.' The Rainbow, the Auckland yacht, won the championship easily, beating Waitangi (Wellington), Yvonne and Kiaori. “ A guid New Year tae ane' an’ a’, An’ mony may ye see; An’ durin’ a’ the years tae come, Oh happy may ye be."
