MR. G. O. C. JONES
OBITUARY
The death occurred in the Cook Hospital on Saturday of a well-known former resident of Napier and Wairoa, and latterly of Tokomaru Bay, Mr. Gurnard Olaf Cork Jones.
Mr. Jones, who was 35 years old, was born and educated In Napier In his youth he was a keen and proficient swimmer, and was one of the original members of the Te Awa Swimming Club, Napier. He was also a very keen fisherman. After living for some years in the Wairoa district, Mr. Jones moved to Tokomaru Bay, where he married Miss Edna May Rawstron. At Tokomaru Bay he was employed first as a clerk in the freezing works and later as telegraph clerk in the Post Office. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife and a young family of two sons and a daughter.
A service was held in Wairoa at 2.30 p.m. today, and the interment took place at the Wairoa Cemetery.
