CONTINENT BUYS MORE FREELY AT LONDON SALE
“At today’s wool sale competition was well maintained and practically all offerings were cleared." says a cable message dated September 22 received by the Gisborne branch of the Bank of New South Wales from its London office in respect of the first week of the September series of the London wool sales.
The cable continues: “Home trade still operating strongly, with America supporting selected styles and the Continent participating more freely.”
Average or estimated price of New Zealand greasy fleece ordinary topmaking wools are:— Merinos, GO/G4s, llOd to 120 d. Fine halfbreds, 56/58S, 1 Odd to llOd. Half bred, 50/5Gs, IOOd to 105 d. Three-quarterbrcd, 48/SOs, 97d to 99d. Fine crossbred, 4G/48s, 97d to 99d. Medium crossbred, 44/465, 97d to 99d. Crossbred, 40/445, 95d to 97d.
