ATTEMPT TO FIRE NEW TWO-STOREY HOUSE SUSPECTED

(P.A.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Sept. 25. What is thought to have been a deliberate attempt to destroy an unoccupied house by fire was made at New Plymouth sometime during the weekend. The house, a new two-storey building, is owned by Mr. M. Lobb.

A quantity of highly infiammable material is believed to have been placed beneath the building and set alight. The fire did some d'lnv'ge, but burned out before it took hold of the building.
