Mr. Holland’s Prestige Confirmed By Work As Prime Minister
(P.A.) WELLINGTON. Sept. 22. The view that the Prime Minister, Mr. S. G. Holland, had greatly increased his prestige, since becoming Prime Minister and that his handling of the wharf situation would enhance it still further was expressed by the president of the National Party, Mr. W. J. Sim, K.C.. in an address to the Dominion council of the party. Mr. Sim said all must admire the industry and thoroughness with which members of the Parliamentary parly had applied themselves to their tasks. Not only had the Government embarked on a heavy legislative programme, but its oerformance in the field of administration had been ' admirable. Ministers had got down to their .jobs with their coats off anti in a way that could not have been improved on. Among those at the meeting were the Minister or Industries and Commerce. Mr. C. M. Bowden, and Messrs. D. M. Rae. H. Johnstone and W. H. Gillespie, members of Parliament, who took their seats as members of the council for the first time.
