NOBEL PEACE PRIZE
(11 a.m.) OSLO, Sept. 22. Dr. Ralph Bunche, the Negro who took over the task of United Nations mediator in Israel after the murder of Count Folke Bernadotte, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo tonight. Dr.. Bunche negotiated three Palestine armistices after he took over Count
Bernadotte's work and remained in Palestine until the fighting was over. He returned to the United States in April, 1949, to resume his post as a director of the United Nations trusteeship division.
