Motor Unions’ Inquiry Ga “Left-Hand” Rule
(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 23. The "left-hand rule” in motoring may be advocated by motor unions of New Zealand, according to a hint given in a report to the South Island Motor Union yesterday by Mr. W. IT. Brown (North Island Motor Union). Sub-committees of both unions bad been investigating the difficulties of the present right-hand rule and would confer soon, he said. The North Island committee had almost reached the conclusion that the right-hand rule would never work unless the rules of the road were changed and the only solution was to. adopt the left-hand rule without exceptions.
