FRANCE BACKS ! PROPOSAL FOR U.N. ARMY
(11 a.m.) PARIS, Sept. 21. The Associated Press says that France pledged full support today for the American proposal for the creation of a United Nations’ army.
The French Foreign Ministry said that France “fully favours” the United States Secretary of State. Mr. Acheson's, four-point security plan for the United Nations. This included the formation of an international army to smash aggression anywhere in the world. Mr. Acheson’s programme outlined in the United Nations Assembly yesterday included the creation of a roving peace patrol to seek out international trouble-spots. The French announcement of support came less than a day after Mr. Acheson’s speech to the Assembly and gave powerful backing to the American proposal.
