Regent.—“ The Chiltern Hundreds," which commences at the Regent today, is a British comedy and one of the most popular with New Zealand audiences since “Quiet Week-End." Cecil Parker (best remembered for his work in “Quartette"), A. E. Mattnews and David Tomlinson are the principal players in this amusing farce which deals nonpoliticnlly with British politics in 1945. For good-natured rollicking entertainment this film is out on its own.
Majestic.—The world famous magician, John Calvert, is seen as the new “Falcon" in
"Devil’s Cargo,” a fast-moving suspenseful murder mystery. The associate western drama. “Guns of Hate,” Btars the popular Tim Holt. The final chapter of “Zorro’s Black Whip” opens the sessions at 1.45 and 7.45
King's.—Remember the smooth and polished comedies such as "Hie Awful Truth.” "Theodora Goes Wild" and “The More the Merrier” that evoked so much sheer delight? They ware _ among the films that established a rich comic tradition for Columbia Pictures Now, that studio adds another to the list in “Tell It to the Judge," co-starring Rosalind Russell and Robert Cummings, and arriving today ay the King's Theatre. Gig Young and Marie McDonald head the cast of supporting players that includes Harry Davenport, Fay Baker and Katharine Warren.
