MODERATE ROYAL TOUR NEEDED

(10 a.m.)

LONDON, Sept. 6.

The Times, in an editorial, says: “Satisfaction that the King’s health is now sufficiently robust to stand the inevitable great strain of a State_ visit to New Zealand and Australia will be mingled with the hope that the programme is kept within the bounds of moderation. Their Majesties have a royal sense of duty, a personal wish to meet as many of their subjects as possible and a human relish wherever they go for getting off the beaten track.

“The self-denying ordinance needed to prevent these happy qualities from overcrowding the programme will not be observed on the Royal initiative alone. It will need to be drawn up for the visitors by their hosts to ensure that periods of complete rest and relaxation are not forgotten.”
