French Infantry Battalion For Korea

PARIS, Sept. 5.

The French Foreign Minister, M. Robert Schuman. notified the United Nations today that France decided to place an infantry battalion at the disposal of the unified command in Korea. A call was made for volunteers who must be. 23 years old and have completed compulsory military training. Reserve officers will be accepted up to 40 years for captains. A French naval unit has been operating in Korean waters for several weeks.
