MORE MARRIAGES IN GISBORNE DURING AUGUST
More marriage licenses were issued in Gisborne last month. Figures releasd today by the registrar of births, deaths and marriages, Mr. A. S. Louisson. showed that 17 marriage licenses were issued compared with 14 in August 1949. Last month’s total included two by the registrar and that for the previous August included three by the registrar.
Other details with figures for August. 1949, in parentheses, are: Deaths, 26 (27); births, 61 163). The total for the eight months of the year with those for the same period of last year, are: Marriages, 130, including 21 by registrar (165 including 31 by registrar); deaths. 146 (160); births, 421 (429).
