American Athletes Set World Records

(11 a.m.) STOCKHOLM, Aug. 22. Jim Fuchs, of the United States, whose shot put of 17,78 metres was recognised • yesterday as a world record, today bettered this mark with a put of 17.95 metres at Eskiltuna. In a second record-breaking performance, George Rhoden, of United Slates, ran 400 metres in 45.8 see. The official record is 45.95 cc., made by Herb. McKenley in 1948.
