PENSIONER’S BODY FOUND IN RIVER

(P.A.) BLENHEIM, Aug. 22. Following the discovery of his horse and a gig a short distance up the river from Waihopai the body of a man was iecovered from the Walrau River .yesterday afternoon. He was: Mr. Thomas Long, pensioner, aged 75. On Thursday Mr. Long took the gig across a ford in the Wairau River, but did not ; eturn home. His absence did not cause alarm immediately as he w’as in the habit of spending several days away from his bach on the Langley Dale property.
