MORE STREET LIGHTS WANTED

The installation of a street light adjacent to a culvert in Mary Street was badly needed, said the town clerk, Mr. W. M. Jenkins, at a meeting of the Gisborne Borough Council Inst night. The provision of the light was requested by the Mangapapa Residents’ Progressive Association and the council decided to approve the request, and also one from residents of Stout Street for the installation of a street light between Wi Pere Street and Sheridan Street. A request from the association for improvements to George Street was referred to the works committee.
