SYDNEY. Aug. 1

Mr. J. O. Cramer says he will urge the Sydney County Council to cancel tenders for the installation of new power-house machinery and ask the State and Federal Governments to finish the job as an urgent defence project. Two new 50,000 kilowatt generators, which could end Sydney’s power shortage in a day. are lying idle, because the contractors have not finished the buildings to house them. Some of these buildings were started four years- ago. The main cause of the delay is lack of steel.
