IT HAPPENED IN KOREA...

(11 a.m.) VATICAN CITY. July 24

Two jeeps—a woman slung between them on ropes—were driven off In opposite directions. The woman was torn to shreds.

It happened In Korea to a South Korean woman captured by the Communists and was mentioned today in a report issued by the Vatican's sacred congregation for propagation of the faith which controls all missionary activities abroad and receives reliable reports from Roman Catholic missionaries.

The report said the Communists released all political prisoners in the gaols of Seoul and installed them in public offices. "As n result of the opening of prison doors, former convicts denounced their enemies and the most horrifying atrocities were committed. “The occupation forces themselves had special blacklists which had been prepared in advance and all those named in the lists were immediately executed.

“The Communists rapidly attacked the wives and families of southern army officers, of members of the police forces and of public officers. “It is still impossible to give the exact number of the people massacred but it is feared that there were more than 1000."
