SUDDEN DEATHS OF THREE MAORIS

Three Maori residents of the Gisborne district died suddenly from natural causes at the week-end. They were Mr. Koto Matehaire. aged G 3, farm worker, employed at Wae-ronga-a-hika: Mrs. Roa Edwards, aged 60. Manutuke. and Mrs. Ataiti Carroll, aged 59. 164 Disraeli Street, Gisborne.

Mr. Matehaire. who was a widower, collapsed while mustering sheep at 9.45 anr on Saturday. Mrs Edwards died at 11.45 p.m. on Saturday in a car which was bringing her from Manutnke to Gisborne for mcd'cal attention. Mrs. Carroll collapsed in Gladstone Road on Friday evening.

Inquests were opened before the district coroner, Mr. E. L. Walton. S.M.. in Gisborne- this morning and adiouaned after evidence of identification had been given
