Over 1200 Reds Killed In Malaya War
SINGAPORE. July 21
Since June 1948 the security forces in Malaya have killed 1292 terrorists of whom 1221 were Chinese, according to a Government communique issued tonight. Fifty-one terrorists were killed last month.
In two years 676 terrorists were captured. In the same period 965 civilians were killed, 572 wounded and 210 reported missing. Regular, special and auxiliary police casualties between June 1948 and June this year inclusive, totalled 40G killed and 445 wounded. British army casualties in Malaya were not given in the communique.
