SIAMESE TROOPS OFFERED TO U.N.
(It a.m.) BANGKOK, July 23. After three hours’ secret session today, the Siamese Parliament approved the Government decision to send an army contingent to aid the United Nations’ forces in Korea. The Premier, Marshal Songkhram, said later that detailed proposals concerning the Siamese contingent's equipment and dispatch would be sent to M. Trygve Lie, the United Nations’ Secretary-General, within a day or two.
The Premier added: "Only by fast and decisive action can we cope with the critical situation throughout Asia. By supporting the United Nations we are not only helping Korea but also ourselves and every other small nation whose integrity might be menaced.”
