Majestic.—Flashing: swords and daring exploits are to be found in Eagle-Lion's spectacular production "Adventures of Casanova,” screening today, with Arturo do Cordova, Lucille Bremer, Turhau Bey heading a big cast. The film deals with an episode from the tremendous book of Casanova’s life, set in Palermo, Sicily, where the champion of the oppressed comes to the aid of the persecuted peasants as they resist the onslaughts of the army of the King of Naples. King's.—The rousing and exciting saga of the. forging of the lifeline of a great nation against overwhelming odds is brought to the screen in "Canadian Pacific.” The new Twentieth Century-Fox release, filmed in colour, stars Randolph Scott in an outstanding cast featuring Jane Wyatt, J. Carroll Naish, Victor Jory and newcomer Nancy Olson. The picture, a Nat Holt production directed by Edwjn 1,. Marin, is now showing at the King’s Theatre. Gregory Peck is seen ns a man of ideals whose love for Ava Gardner leads him into the temptation of gambling, n lure which_ proves stronger than his will to write or his love for the girl. Miss Gardner has a vole which establishes her n» one of of the screen’s most talented actresses. The role of General Ostrovsky, the heroine’s father, is enacted hy Walter Huston. Erpially colourful is the characterisation portrayed by Ethel Barrymore, as the general’s rich mother.
