Americans Win French Tennis Titles

(11 a.m.) LONDON, June 4. The Americans Talbert and Trabert defeated Sturgess and Drobny 6-2, 1-6, 10-8, 6-2 in the men’s doubles final of the French tennis championships. The Americans, Doris Hart and Shirley Fry, won the women’s doubles title, beating their fellow Americans Louise Brough and Margaret Du Pont 1-6, 7-5, 6-2.

Enrique Morea. of Argentine and Barbara Scofield of America won the mixed title on a walk-over from Talbert and Mrs. Patricia Todd.

Talbert and Mrs. Todd defaulted because Mrs. Todd yesterday literally played the soles off her feet. She wore three pairs of socks playing in the doubles semi-finals and women’s singles final which she lost to Doris Hart. Her soles today were too raw for a day’s heat-wave play.
