A STRANGE BIRD

Sir,—A year ago I and a visitor, heard a bird almost all day (in the big ti-kouka tree) run quickly up a scale of six notes. We could not see it. Two months ago it was among my trees again, with his scale run. Can a’ reader tell me the name of the bird? MARY BLAIR
