SLIGHT INCREASE -BIRTHS, DEATHS AND MARRIAGES

Small increases in the number cf births deaths and marriages were recorded in Gisborne last month. For the five months of the year the number of birth registrations is the same as the aggregate for the corresponding period of last year. Deaths declined by 23 and marriages bv 22.

The figures for last month, supplied by the registrar, Mr. A S. Louisson, with the totals for May. 1949. in paren thesis are as follow: —Births. 46 (41); deaths, 23 (21); marriages. 18. including four by the registrar (15 including two by the registrar.) The totals for the five months of the’ year with those for the same_neriod of last vear are:—Births. 255 (255); deaths. 74 (97); marriages. 91. including 11 by registrar (113, including 21 bv registrar.)
