GENERAL SLIM TO VISIT DOMINION

(Special) WELLINGTON. June 1. The Chief of the Imperial General Staff, Field Marshal Sir William Slim, is to visit New Zealand next month for a discussion on defence matters of common concern. The Prime Minister, Mr. S. G. Holland, said today that he hoped it would be possible for the military visitor to see for himself what New Zealand has done in the introduction of compulsory military training.
