A fanfare of trumpets signalled the unveiling of a roll of honour of XlVth Olympiad champions at Wembley London on April 14. The commemorative tablets, which recorded the names of the winners in the Wembley 1948 Olympics, are erected on either side of the Stadium entrance. At centre background. Lord Burghley, chairman of the organising committee of the XlVth Olympiad 1948, holds the cord which released the shrouds from the tablets.
