COBALT REPLACES RADIUM FOR TREATING CANCER

(10 a.m.) NEW YORK, April 2. Cobalt has replaced radium in the treatment of cancer, Dr. Shields Warren said today. He is director of the United States Atomic Energy Commission’s biology medicine division. Dr. Warren said that cobalt, which is a plentiful metal, was just as effective as radium for treating cancer and other diseases and was- one thousand times cheaper.
