(Herald Correspondent.) Many friends of Miss Edith Barflett, whose’ marriage to Mr. Eric Walden. Wellington, takes .place next month, spent an enjoyable evening arranged by her prospective bridesmaid, Miss M. Jones, at the Waikohu Hall. Dancing was the main feature of the evening, the music for which was supplied bv Messrs. K. Kingi and T. Rutene and Mrs. Rua Brown. Games and competitions were entered into with much gusto by the younger set. the “novelty” of the night being the
“witch race.” Only a certain age group was eligible to enter, Mrs. G. Ruru’s team gaining the honours. Assisted by her bridesmaids, Misses M. Jones and K. Walden. Miss Bartlett then opened the numerous parcels of useful gifts for her future home. Mr. Walden, in a short speech, expressed their appreciation and gratitude to all present..
A delicious supper was served on tables decorated with belladonna lilies.
