U.S. OPPOSES USE OF GERMAN FORCES
NEW YORK, March 30. The suggestion by Mr. Churchill that German soldiers be permitted to serve with the Allied armies was described today by American officials as “entirely premature.” Mr. Churchill advanced the proposal in a speech in the House of Commons yesterday. One official said the United States believed that West Germany must make considerably more progress politically before any thought could be given to using German manpower in Allied defence plans. “To do otherwise would be to put the cart before the* horse,” he said.
