FLOODED RIVER SPILLS OVER N.S.W. TOWNSHIPS

SYDNEY, March 30

The Murrumbidgee River burst its banks late last night and by early today had flooded the northern part of the township of Darlington Point. Thirty people at nearby Dubbo were evacuated by Army amphibians and moved to woolsheds on higher giounci. The State highway has been cut and the water is rising rapidly ._ Graziers in other parts of the Riverina, fearing that the advancing floods will fan across the plains, creating havoc equal to the flood disasters of 1931, are moving stock and reinforcing weirs.
