NICHOLLS CUP SURF EVENT WON BY GISBORNE TEAM

The Nicholls Cup was retained by Gisborne A in the anual competition between the surf section of the Gisborne Amateur Surf and Swimming Club and the Wainui Surf Life-Saving Club at Waikanae Bench.

The programme was opened by an impressive march past and nil surfers were concentrating on each phase of their work, bearing in mind the possibility of selection in the P.B. side to meet the Australian surf visitors in competition in Gisborne next week.
