FIRE RAGES NEAR WAITAKERE TOWNSHIP
(P.A.) AUCKLAND. Jan. 16. A large band of firefighters toiled at the township of Waitakerc yesterday afternoon when a fierce fire raced through 150 acres of scrub and right to the railway line Although the lire came to within a few yards of several houses, there was no serious damage.to private property, but the township was without electric power for nearly three hours.
