‘Wonder Girl' Swimmer For Empire Games

CAPE TOWN, Jan. 13. Fourteen-year-old Joan Harrison, "the wonder girl” from East London, will leave her home town tomorrow on the first stage of her journey to Auckland as No. 1 nominee of the Springbok swimming team. In the past 12 months she has taken every freestyle and backstroke record in South Africa, and East Londoners arc confident she will be a sensation at the Empire Games.
