Red-Legged Mile Appears in Hastings

Red-legged earth mites have made an appearance in Hastings, and have been discovered in gardens' in Gordon Road, opposite the Hastings West School. The density of the mites suggests that they have been in the locality for a considerable time. Treatment of the area has been taken over bv the senior orchard instructor, Mr. T. Conway, who has urged that residents should keep a watch for this pest, particu l arlv over the next two or three weeks. Near the end of November the pest naturally decreases.
