FISH OF 14LB. IN TARAWERA CATCH

(P.A.) ROTORUA, Nov. 2. The best opening of the season reported for some years was the experience of three anglers at Lake Tarawera yesterday. This lake has been more noteworthy in recent seasons for its end-of-scason catches and the success of this Rotorua trio, Messrs. A. H. Gleeson. F. Burns and J. L- Wells is, therefore, the more noteworthy. Fishing in daylight, both from the lake shore and from a boat, the three men caught 14 rainbow. Three were thrown back and the remainder aggregated 1711 b. One turned the scale at 141 b. another at 9Mb and two at 81b. All the fish retained were in good condition and were feeding on smelt.
