Sir,—The remarks made by Mr. H. F. Wise regarding a Bechstein piano at present in the Opera House are doubtless true. However. 1 for one detest being told how lucky I am to be able to hear New Zealand's best piano. This “pearl beyond price’’ I understand is hired or lent by the owner to artists concerned. If the piano is available on a hire basis, let this be paid from takings at the door putting the matter on a business footing and thus relieve citizens of a subjection to patromsation which is to be, GREATLY DEPRECATED
