Mr. Nash Looks To Time When Nylons Will Be On Display
(P.A.) CHRIS'!CHURCH, Nov. 2. The Government had checked on the production that could he achieved by Nylon stocking manufacturers in New Zealand and. with imports, was arranging to provide sufficient supplies to meet “all the needs of this country.” the Minister of Finance. Mr. W. Nash, said at an election meeting last evening. “There will come a time when nylons will be on show,” he added. The trouble was that when word went round that nylons were available a woman who needed one pair bought six and one who needed two pairs bought a dozen. The lime would soon come, however. when such hoarding would disappear, because of stocks in the shops. “And then women will cease to want them. I suppose,” Mr. Nash added ruefully.
